There are a variety of instructional technologies available for use in your course. One of the core technologies supported by Online Learning is the myCourses course management system (CMS). myCourses is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so students and faculty have the potential to interact at any time from any Internet connection.
myCourses is a web-based CMS that accommodates users of all levels of expertise. Faculty can post information and files for their particular courses to the web without any knowledge of HTML, web programming or web design. To access, myCourses go to http://mycourses.rit.edu. To learn more about myCourses visit the Supported Technologies area of our website.
Other instructional technologies available for campus courses include Adobe Connect, Student Response Systems (clickers), and peer2peer (Online Peer Evaluation Tool). To learn more about these technologies, please visit the Supported Technologies area on our website.
Faculty can get hands-on experience and training using these instructional tools in our TLT Lab, located in the basement of the Wallace Library, room A650. Faculty can use the TLT Lab to create a range of course materials, from simple PowerPoint presentations to audio/video-streaming course components, online survey and evaluation tools.
