Online Learning's Teaching and Learning Technology Lab is a resource for faculty and staff developing their skills in online instruction or creating instructional materials. Online Learning staff offer faculty development seminars and workshops on online teaching pedagogy, using the online course management system, and other supported instructional tools. We offer a range of basic training to help you get started as well as effective strategies from our years of experience in the field.
In addition to the training and instructional support, faculty and staff may also use the TLT Lab to create a range of course materials from simple handouts and PowerPoint presentations to multimedia audio/video streaming projects. The TLT Lab is a quiet environment where faculty and staff may work on projects. While primarily a self-serve environment, we do have staff available to help you with your questions. Additional assistance and training are available by appointment.
The Teaching and Learning Technology Lab is equipped with high-end Apple and Microsoft Windows computers. Each station is set up with commonly used software applications and a few specialized tools to aid in the development of instructional materials and research. All computers are equipped with a CD or CD/DVD drive capable of writing your items to disk as well as ZIP drives to make it easy to take your projects with you. We have scanners for easy scanning of documents, slides, and other materials to make them available online.
Visit the Training & Events area to view upcoming training, events, webinars or 1-to-1 customized trainings. Hours of operation for the TLT lab can be found on the Contact page.
