Description In this introduction to global business we consider the opportunities and threats posed by global changes, especially those of major market groupings such as NAFTA and EU and the emergence of China as an economic force. In response to these changes, new modes of doing business as well as categories of business are developing and these will be studied, specifically: drivers to globalization, alternative business environments and risk, foreign exchange risk, trade theory, market entry strategies, alliances, foreign direct investment, outsourcing, intellectual property (IP) and its protection.
